Several government partners have suggested that several amendments be made to the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.

If the amendments are not included, support for the bill will have to be reconsidered, a leader of a government partner party told a weekend newspaper.

The three proposals include limiting the number of cabinet members to 30, not allowing dual citizens to represent parliament, and re-introducing the establishment of a National Audit Commission.

He has further stated that he will hold discussions with the President, Prime Minister and former Minister Basil Rajapaksa in this regard.
